Ducks and geese are animals known to mate for life. In Korean culture this makes them the perfect symbols of fidelity and are incorporated into weddings.
In the past, if a man wanted to get married with Korean girl, he would travel to her home on a white pony and present her family a pair of geese.
As usual the groom traveled to the bride’s house for the ceremony and stayed there for 3 days. And only after ceremony which involved many rituals, he could take his bride in his family’s home.
The most popular wedding favors include wedding dolls, celadon cosmetic boxes with a pair of cranes, the symbol of immortality, flying in the clouds, silk fans, which can be inscribed with the name of the wedding couple, and chopsticks sets.
